Unique places and the people who inhabit them have always inspired me. But as a former journalist, I also know that there's a story hiding behind almost every corner. Right now, I'm working on a documentary about a nonprofit organization building a new school for girls in Liberia, and their inspirational efforts to make a difference in the lives of some of the country's most vulnerable kids. I'm also the Upper School Film Instructor at an independent school in Brentwood, CA, and I provide freelance video production services to a variety of commercial and nonprofit clients in the Los Angeles area. To find out how I can help with your next video project or documentary film, email me at preskill@gmail.com or check out my Production Services page for more information.

As the Film Teacher at Brentwood School since 2012, I've been responsible for teaching a variety of filmmaking concepts and skills to students grades 7-12. I currently teach Introduction to Filmmaking, Advanced Filmmaking, Video Editing and Documentary Filmmaking at a high-school level, and I also work with the Summer At Brentwood program to provide intensive filmmaking camps to kids ages 12-14 during the summer break.

For students ages 12-18 who are passionate about learning more about the creative medium of film outside of school, I'm also available to provide individual private instruction of different filmmaking concepts and skills. Private tutoring sessions are held at your home using your own software and equipment, and are tailored to each student's experience and interests. All projects and lessons are designed to be fun and engaging as well as educational. Whether your child is interested in screenwriting, camera operation, video editing, or the whole creative process, I can create an individualized program based on his or her interests and ability level. My rate for private tutoring is $100/hr; please contact me at preskill@gmail.com for more information.
